As the important subfield of Neo-Confucianism in the Song and Ming dynasties,Lu-Wang School, together with Neo-Confucianism, was the peak during Song andMing dynasty. In this period, the relation between heaven and man is the mainphilosophy propositions during Song and Ming dynasty. Since Cheng ZhuNeo-Confucianism advocated“Nature is Principle”, emphasized the importanceexcessively of“Principle”, and ignored the subject existence of human-being, LuJiuyuan proposed a series of psychology thought such as“Mind is Principle”,“Conscience”,“The Exploration of Conscience”and so on in order to turn aroundthe Cheng Zhu Neo-Confucianism’s comprehension and statement on the relationbetween heaven and man as well as the circumstance of“Separation of Heaven andMan”.Based on Lu Jiuyuan’s philosophy of the mind, Wang Shouren absorbed andused the achievement of predecessors on the philosophy of the mind and thethoughts of Buddhism and Taoism for reference, perfected and improved LuJiuyuan’s philosophy of the mind, and proposed the thought of mind with owncharacteristics such as“the extension of innate knowledge, unity of knowing anddoing, emphasized the individual existence and self value as well as the realizationof personal mastery, therefore the philosophy of mind was digested and became theparadigm of oneness of heaven and man during the Song and Ming dynasties. In thispaper, it is tried to compare the Lu-Wang School vertically, found the developmentvenation of Lu-Wang School and provided a reference idea for the research on thephilosophy of mind.It is mainly used the method of literature search and comparative study in thispaper. It is divided into four parts.Part One, Introduction. It is given a general introduction on the role of Lu-WangSchool in the Chinese philosophical history, the research status of recent 20 years inand abroad as well as purposive aim and research method of this paper. Part Two, it is combed the development venation of Lu-Wang School. First, it’sstated that the philosophy of mind was born and developed on the condition ofhistory; Then given an brief introduction of the two representative figures ofphilosophy of mind- Lu Jiuyuan and Wang Shouren; Last, given an brief comb of LuJianyuan and Wang Shouren’s philosophy of mind system, explained each aspect anddevelopment venation of the two on the whole.Part Three, in this part it is referred to Wang Shouren’s inheritance of LuJiuyuan’s philosophy of mind, and how to criticize and absorb the thought of LuJiuyuan in the process of hertance.Part Four, it is stated the each aspect of Wang Shouren’s surpassing on LuJiuyuan’s philosophy of mind. First, surpassing of ontology; Second, surpassing ofmethodology; Last, surpassing of mind realm.
