| The Armenian question is an important part of the "Eastern Question" in the modern history. At the same time, Armenia region is an important link of Central Asia strategy for the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom policy to Armenia, affected the development and process of the Armenian question objectively. The United Kingdom and Russia launched a fierce battle for their own hegemonic interests. After the second time of Russia and Turkey war, the Armenian question began its internationalization."Eastern Question" is one of the most important themes in the first half of the19th century European international relations. So the hegemony between Britain and Russia in Central Asia of this period is always an important issue to explore. Study British policy to Armenia, for one thing, will helps us to deepen the understanding on the British policy towards Central Asia of this period. For another, it helps us to understand the development process of the Armenian question and to understand the reason of Holocaust comprehensively. This subject makes a significant effect to the international relations of this period. In recent years, the Armenian massacre re-attracted people’s attention. For this reason, we have to understand the Armenian question comprehensively, and taking this issue into the background at that time. The British policy of Armenia and the Near East in the late19th century and early20th century played a crucial role to the history development and the trend of Armenian. Therefore, to study the British policy to Armenia of this period has an important practical value and academic value. This article tries to make a preliminary discussion to make up this regard vacancies of domestic academia with my poor ability.The article is divided into three parts:Introduction, body and conclusion. The introduction part is the opening section of the article, which consists of three parts. It introduces the meaning of article topics systematically, combing the relevant studies of this subject, and describes the research methods and innovations of the article.The body part is the main part of the article, which contains three chapters. The first chapter is to analyze the decline of the Ottoman Empire and the rise of the Eastern Question from domestic, international and geopolitical factors. Also, this part discusses the origin of the British policy to Armenia. The second chapter describes the process of internationalization of the Armenian question and the development of the British policy to Armenia, which introduces the conflicts and complex contradictions between the Western countries headed with Britain on the issue of Armenian question. The third chapter explains the power shift of the Ottoman Empire devoted to both internal and external circumstances, and the specific situation of the Armenian genocide and deep-seated reasons. The fourth chapter describes the use and strategy of the United Kingdom to Armenia after the First World War, as well as an ultimate result of the Republic of Armenia.The conclusion is the ending portion of the article, following the two-part analysis, came to a conclusion:the Armenian question is a microcosm of the Western powers in the Near East hegemony. The Western powers involved in the Armenian question and influenced the development and trend of the Armenian question. British has a large impact on the Armenian question. From the rise of the Armenian question to the Republic of Armenia joined the Soviet Union, Britain has continued Armenian policy, and constantly changing. This change is closely related with Britain’s national interests, international situation and the UK’s strength, which has a profound impact on the trend of the Armenian question.
