As painting is like life, the conjecture on pictures is like something that on life. It is as transmigrate of life when going out and in a painting. A stationary plane can make people taste the complex in life. Painting is the exchange between the painter and the viewer, is the embodiment of the painter’s emotional consciousness. In the multicultural time, various thoughts and cultures permeate and influence each other. Chinese contemporary realist painting inherits and develops the essence of ancient and modern art, and thrives on the fertile soil of national spirit.This thesis reviews the development process of European oil painting and the development of Chinese painting in one hundred years firstly. Two realist painting factions of contemporary Chinese and the status of artists’finding their own unique painting language are analyzed, then the influence of western and eastern artistic achievements in their own unique local culture is also researched. The emergence of optical instruments produced a great impact on oil painting and caused tat debate, while the study of many works have shown that realism painting arts learn the nutrition from photography and film as the same. They form a mutual fusion and inseparable relationship. At the same time, the common characters of European oil painting and Chinese painting are analyzed from different angles to the specific work as an example. Finally, based on self-analysis, the individual mental state and realistic painting features are studied, and the trace of individual paintings which learning from art masters in drawn, style, performance and acquiring inspiration from the art of ancient Greece and Rome is analyzed, especially the feeling of copying Rembrandt realism paintings. The performance figures of realistic oil painting in Chinese contemporary blend with Chinese unique local culture and thinking of artists.
