Visual guidance system in urban, also called direction system in urban, is an important part of visual communication system in urban, which is also one of the important ways to convey information. At different time and in different locations, different populations in city receive different information. These information either guide people to its destination or to build its new destination for people. As a carrier of conscious thinking, information operate in urban guide system. Design for city guide system bears important responsibilities for making cities of this organism operate well. In daily life, visual information conveyed role of city guiding system cann’t be also replaced by any other means of information dissemination. Among city road signage, functional building signs, description of park area, room number and even male and female identity of toilet we go to every day, all belong to guide sign system in city. City guiding system has become an indispensable source of visual information. The function of information is to eliminate unreliable factors in thinking conscious. Whether or not objective to the thinking is determined, depends entirely on the quality of received information. However, a considerable part of cities and areas in our country, the function of city guiding system don’t get enough attention, which results in a decline in the quality of information transmission. Due to this, many accident, such as losses of lives and property, take place. There are two main aspects of reason for this result: on one hand, the crowd don’t pay enough attention to guiding sign system itself, which is related to degree of civilization and psychological factors of the crowd; on the other hand, city guiding sign system lack of the idea of human nature, without considering human’s visual psychological factors.Therefore, how under the existing conditions the prompt role of visual information is played better to make people accept hint of visual information better, which will be key problem faced in the future development of the design of visual guide system will. According to human’s visual psychology theory, this paper follows design principles of function first by the design purpose of human care . According to the different crowd behavior ability and visual psychology of full understanding and analysis, use scientific method, artistic conception and discusses the concept of. By means of understanding and analying behavior ability and visual psychology of different crowd fully, design and discussion is achieved based on scientific method and artistic conception.The design of visual guide system in city combines with the whole environment and facilities and is integrated into the city master planning and design conception, so as to regulate people’s behavior, optimize human’s life and improve the living environment. My own unique formulation is given to the future development of visual guide system in city.
