Yuan Haowen is the most famous poet in Jin dynasty; his worksYi Shan music represents the highest achievement of Jin poetry,and his style is famous for variety. This paper, which is on the basisof modern style theory, systematically studies the style of Yi Shanpoetry.This thesis can be divided into six parts. The first chapter isintroduction; it introduces the life history of Yuan Haowen, thetheory of Chinese ancient style theory and summary ofcontemporary style theory, and the previous studies on artisticstyles of Yi Shan Music as well as the research direction, angle ofthis thesis. The second chapter introduces bold virile style, itinterprets the style from the perspective of emotion, realm, poetrytone and stylus force. Yi Shan creates a magnificent, vigorous realmand shows the confidence on the border defense and love fornorthern views. The third chapter introduces graceful implicit style.The style is described from theme, lyrical tactics, and realm, poetrytone. Yi Shan creates beautiful and soft realm through choosingcharming poetry tone, using techniques of scenery sustenance,metaphor and indirectly foil, gracefully expressing the emotion, andchanting the traditional theme—Lovesickness as well as using bright imagery, soft and delicate emotion realm and variousromantic art. The fourth chapter introduces bold and graceful style.It is deeply explained from conception, metaphor and realm. Boldstyle and graceful style have begun to mutually joint since Songdynasty, and Yi Shan gets it improved further. The conception of thisstyle is higher than that of graceful style, its meaning is thicker thanthat of bold style, and the realm of this style is more vigorous. Thefifth chapter introduces plain and natural style. It is analyzed fromfeeling, technique and realm as well as language. Yi Shan expressesindifferent mood through using simple technique and plain language.It also shows a bright and clean realm through virtual-actualcombination as well as static and dynamic connection. The sixthchapter introduces profound and forceful style and it is studied fromemotion, lyric technique, and realm as well as language. Yi Shanexpresses depressed, bitter emotion and shows deep, extensiverealm through using abort lyric style and lingering language.
