Along with the rapid development of global economy, our country has more and more contact with other counties in the areas of economy, politics, culture etc. Our country is in urgent needs of a large number of professional business talents who are good at English communication, which has brought English teaching a great challenge. At the same time, the theory about intercultural communication competence is brought into our country, our business English teaching has also started to pay more attention to students’intercultural communication competence training, but the effect is not satisfying. For a long time, the neglect of students’ learning needs makes the teacher difficult to choose the correct method and hold the right direction to develop the students’ intercultural communication competence. Need analysis in business English teaching seems like a forgotten link.This paper attempts to investigate and analyze the existing need of English major students in the training of intercultural communication competence so as to provide a reference to the development of students’intercultural communication competence. Students in LiaoDong Institution were chosen as the subjects for this study, and the students’ needs were analyzed on the basis of questionnaire and interviews results to learn the students’ preferences, motivations, evaluations of course setting and the teachers’ quality expectations, etc. At the same time need analysis approach was used to provide reliable basis of scientific course setting and help teachers to select the suitable teaching method so as to make the students study more effectively.The paper is divided into five parts. Chapter One describes the background and writing meaning, and the main problems and the methods adopted, and finally points out the necessity of the cultivation of students’ intercultural communication competence in China for business English teaching. Finally, limitations and delimitations are introduced in this part. Chapter Two is the theoretical basis of this paper, it introduces the basic concepts for the culture, communication, intercultural communication and need analysis of and lay a theoretical foundation for the next. Chapter Three is the part of the methodology, this chapter introduces its study object, study method, data acquisition and the release of the questionnaire and recovery and so on which is the foundation for the fourth part of the collection and data analysis. Chapter Four is the results and discussion part. Analysis of data was done through forms and diagrams to get students’ evaluation the colleges teaching situation and expressed their practical needs. Chapter Five brings forward several suggestions based on students’ need for cultivation of ICC through the questionnaire and interview data analysis above.
