Research On History Of Art Communication Between China And Soviet Union In Period Of Anti-Japanese War

Chinese Anti-Japanese War is not only an important part of Chinese modern history, but also an important part of world anti-fascist war. Though this period of history has been fully researched, the art history of this time is not sufficiently researched. Fine arts played a significant role in announcing Chinese great defending war to the world and winning sympathy and support for that. The communication of art with other countries does even better for this purpose. China and Soviet Union shares similar historic background, which encouraged the communication between them.The first section has analyzed the social background and the situation of fine arts in both China and Soviet Union. Because of the instability of the society, more artists tend to seek for art that presents more realistic world and pay attention to the reality. Still, as the revolution goes, more works for announcing revolutions are created too. Due to the similarities in these two countries in the period of the beginning of 20th century, they communicated a lot during the war time. Otherwise, Luxun, who was the first introducer of realism of art, also built solid foundation for later communication.The most important part lies in Section Two. This section introduces the exhibitions for art communications and the communication between the artists and the art organisations. Some rare materials that haven’t been used will be seen in this part. By analyzing these materials, the author argues that the communication of fine art between China and Soviet Union not only helped with the foundation and the development of Chinese art of realism. And this communication also presents a real China in war, which aroused wide sympathy and got support from people in Soviet Union.The third section introduces a major organization, which is called China and Soviet Union Cultural Association. All the major exhibitions are under the support of this organization and its journal China and Soviet Union Culture also plays an important part in the communication of fine arts with Soviet Union.The fourth section focuses on the effect of newspapers and magazines in the period.The fifth section has analyses and concluded all the sections above, through which, two aspects of view can be got. On the one hand, the communication of fine arts between China and Soviet Union has influenced the development of Chinese art of realism. On the other hand, it helped strengthen the union relation between China and Soviet Union.
