With the painful experiences by the two world wars, right has become everyone’s consensus. It is linked with the presence of human beings closely, we can say that our times are times of right. Now, in any ethical work, if it does not talk about right or has nothing to do with right indirectly, then it will be in nobody’s interest. However, in order to provide a theory of right, we must return to Kant to find a sufficient moral basis for right. In Kant’s view, right bases on freedom, this is decided by the nature of human beings. And freedom itself is the only internal right which is the basis of external right; moreover, the external right is the materialization and realization of internal right. External right is constituted by two parts, that is the right of individual and the right of nation. We must provide adequate protection for the right of individual and nation in order to realize freedom, and we can only do this by translating rights into the system of law, because the systemized security of law is the prerequisite of ensuring right sufficiently. Of course, law is not the only means in right-security, morality also plays an important role in right-security. They both have an important role in protecting rights. When right is sufficiently secured, the freedom of human beings will be fulfilled adequately, and the nature of human beings will also be exhibited sufficiently.
