Studies On Shu Dan And His Poetry

This dissertation is the research about Shu Dan and his poetry.The first chapter focus on Shu Dan’s character and ability. People always look down upon Shu Dan’s character. On Shu Dan’s character, I agree with Zhou Jianguo’s evaluation of Shu Dan. I will be the basis of his research to do further study. Because of the two things, the character of Shu Dan is criticized. I research on these two things, then I come to the conclusion that Shu Dan impeached Zhang Shangying doesn’t mean he devoid of gratitude, but rather reflects he is an honest officials not swayed by personal considerations. Shu Dan impeached Su Shi resulted in “Wutai poem case”, is because of the censor role and the political positions and is nongting to do with character. Analysis of Shu Dan’s ability, I think that Shu Dan is a thinking officials, a courageous leader and a very talented scholar.The second chapter analyze the unique of Shu Dan’s poetry and compare his poetry with Qin Guan’s. by research I conclude that the highlights of Shu Dan’s poetry is that he used a lot of prefaces and began to create poems which express personal temperament. Compared to the previous poetry, Shu Dan’s poetry have the characteristics of elegance. I analysed the expression of “elegance” specifically. In order to pursue liberal arts,he melts the previous verse. In order to display literary pursuits, he makes his poetry charming. In order to express elegance, he used rhetorical devices.In order to pursuit accuracy and elegance,he refined o lot.
