During the War of Liberation, in order to unite the broadest range of people striving for the triumph of the revolution, the Communist Party of China highly valued the young students who were the enormous social potential power, and The Party conducted frequent and systemic ideological and political education on the students and achieved good results through a variety of effective, subtle form.Chiang Kai-shek’s Government has been closely controlling the political thought of the students, besides after anti-Japan war victory, they, taking advantages of organizations such as Youth League of Three People’s Principles, competed more vigorously with the Party for students, and also played the role of anti-Communist actively. As a result, it was more complex and severe for the Party to carry out ideological and political work to young students in KMT-ruled area during the period of liberation war. However, the KMT’s civil war dictatorship, as well as the serious political and economic crisis in KMT-ruled area contrasted distinctly with the peaceful and democratic political efforts of the Party, as well as the flourish of the liberated areas. More and more young students in KMT-ruled area gradually recognized the reactionary and corruption of Kuomintang rule, and had a positive political identification on the Party that represents the interests of the people. This change on the trend of public feeling provided a good social background again for the ideological and political work of the Party in KMT-ruled area.To well carry out the ideological and political work among the young students in KMT-ruled area, the Party, on the basis of analyzing the working environment and the thoughts of young students in KMT-ruled area, developed practical guidelines and policies, as well as fundamental working thoughts, and also established strong leadership system. The Party trained party members and strengthened the power of the Party by strengthening the construction of itself in the school of KMT-ruled area, and by grasping the leadership of students autonomy, the Party widely united various young students. In addition, the Party took students movement as special ideological and political work, exercising a vast number of young students and trained cadres in actual combat. In KMT-ruled area, the young students preserved close ties with the people, sparking a patriotic pro-democracy movement under the political leadership, grouping motivation and ideological education of the Party. This broad participated anti-Kai-shek patriotic campaign, which took the student movement as a pioneer, hit the US and Chiang Kai-shek reactionaries politically and promoted solutions for a number of historical problems. As the second section of the Chinese people’s Liberation Front, it put Chiang Kai-shek’s Government under a nationwide surrounding, and made indelible historic contributions to the victory of the Chinese revolution.During the liberation war, the ideological and political work practice on young students in KMT-ruled area from the Party serves as the successful model of the party’s ideological and political work on young students in the history, accumulating rich historical experience such as, calling for and leading students on the basis of patriotism; carrying out work tightly around the central task of the Party; making right decisions according to the change on objective situation; relying firmly on the masses of the people; and accessing to extensive mass foundation;etc. These work experience is a valuable treasure for the Party to strengthening and improving the ideological and political education of young students. Faced with the current situation of the young students’ideological and political work, we have to make the following efforts:continue to take the great attention to ideological and political work of young students as a primary precondition for carrying out work; firming the ideal and faith education of young students; strengthening education in patriotism; effectively protecting the interests of students; adopting scientific and effective form to enhance education results; noting the dynamic changes of the students’thought in a timely manner, and taking preventive measure to enhance the predictability of ideological and political work. |
