Zhang Ling is a rising star of Overseas Chinese Literature in recent years. She is not a high produced writer, but her works arouse a particular reaction in motherland and aboard. She is keen on looking for the balance between the tranquility and multi-cultures, to live with it, to mix into it. Through the development of traditional Chinese culture, she understands it, supervises it, draws from it. In the trend of globalization, the mixture of different cultures reveals the spiritual world of immigrants, the reflection of modern life with confusion and uncertainty. Tasting her works, it’s easy to find out she is really good at portraying human dilemma with her sensibility. No matter it’s history or reality, she just focuses on human, to reveal the growing pains of human. That’s where her enthusiasm is. At the same time, she renders expectations to those people in predicament, with her unique tenderness.In recent years, many reviewers have already analyzed her works in different ways successfully. In my thesis, I classify and research her creations in my own ways. The preface is about the research background, research ways and brief introduction of the writer. Chapter one is to do with her life experience and writing inspiration. If you read her work intensively, you will find the similarities between her life and her character’s life.
