Discourse Analysis Of<Art Life>and<Gathering Joy By Li Yong>

<Art Life> is a program of conversation in CCTV, the premiere time is2000and the host is Zhu Jun. The program shows different artists’life to audience and provides a new view to other talk shows in producing.<Gathering joy by Li Yong> is also a program of conversation in CCTV, the premiere time is2008, the host is Li Yong, and the aim of this program is "everyone is his own hero, everyone has his own legend. During a few short years, this program refreshed us by its unique form and perspective.In this paper, I compare these two programs by the method of discourse analysis in order to find the differences of the program styles and to know the rules of language using and the structure mode of the two programs.At first, I find the differences of the beginning, the main part and the end of the two programs by comparing the overall structure. Through the comparative analysis, we know the program style is determined at the beginning by different opening ways, and the comparison of the main part is interpreted in the following part. The end of the <Gathering Joy by Li Yong> is freer than the part of<Art Life>.Then I compare the main parts of the two programs in details. They have differences in topic choosing, initiating and coherent ways,<Art Life> is focus on the depth of topic, the host controls the topic strictly, and the topic is joined closely, but the topic choosing of <Gathering Joy by Li Yong> is more free, the host and the guest both can initiate the topics and using many ways to join them; they also have differences in turns and turn taking, the turn of <Art Life> is long than <Gathering Joy by Li Yong>, and they use different ask-answer structure, turn taking ways and interrupting ways. This is the key part of the paper, through the analyzing of the linguistic data, we can find why the two program have different styles.Third, I compare the hosting styles of the two hosts through the figure, oral language and body language in order to find how the hosting style affects the program style.At the end, I try to find why the <Art Life> is more successful than <Gathering Joy by Li Yong> from four points:program positioning, topic choosing, host positioning and language environment using.
