As one of the indispensable expressing means of Modern graphic design,graphics are widely used in logo design, poster design, and promotional designproject. To widen concepts and ideas of modern graphic design, we will inevitablyinvolve in related traditional graphic design. For a national’s culture inheritance hascertain continuity, as a part of culture, the development and evolution of graphicdesign also has the same continuity and regularity. To get sober thoughts for todayand the further development, the examination and understand the past is essential.Deep understanding of the tradition is a key to the modern graphic design in a varietyof applications, performance.At the same time, in the increasingly intense international competition, whetherit is from the international market competition or from the national culture inheritanceand development perspective, dig, carry forward the traditional culture will be the keyto development of the contemporary design. In the face of western culture shock, Mr.Fei Xiaotong puts forward the concept of cultural awareness, advocates and awakenspeople’s cultural consciousness, to reflect and guide Chinese traditional culturepromotion. Its purpose is to strengthen the autonomy of cultural transformation, tobetter adapt to the new environment and new age. Only by constantly adapted to thenew social and cultural environment, traditional culture, design ideas will havebroader survival and development space.In this paper, the view of cultural consciousness and its related content isintroduced into the field of graphic design. From the perspectives of the culturalconsciousness in the development of traditional graphics, the succession of moderngraphic design for the traditional graphics and traditional design ideology and culture,the influence of cultural consciousness in modern graphic design to study culturalconsciousness in Chinese modern graphic design.With methods of literature survey and case analysis, through the study of relatedbooks and literature on Chinese traditional graphic design, history of the traditional graphic development, traditional way of thinking and cultural consciousness,establish the related concepts and theoretical foundation. On this basis, the analysis ofrepresentative traditional graphic design and its development process and moderngraphic design case study are the example and evidence of research on performanceof cultural consciousness in Chinese graphic design.The thesis is divided into3chapters (introduction and conclusion arenegligible).The first chapter is titled "the cultural consciousness in traditional graphicsdevelopment", mainly from the longitudinal evolution of the graphic, including theprocess of its evolution, and cultural environment influence, from these two aspects tointroduce the cultural consciousness in Chinese traditional graphics, and use thedevelopment of lotus pattern in Song Yuan Ming as case analysis.The second chapter is titled "cultural consciousness in modern graphic design",through the specific application of modern graphic design for the traditional graphicalmodeling, performance techniques; modeling techniques analyze the self-consciousinheritance of modern graphic design for traditional culture resources. Then throughspecific case to analyze the influence of cultural consciousness on visual perception(based on the influence of modern graphic design range), and explore the interactionand influence between cultural consciousness and modern graphic design.The third chapter is titled "the practical significance of cultural consciousness inChinese modern graphic design", to take modern graphic design as a cultural heritageand communication platform, through the study of the traditional culture and graphics,the traditional design method and its application in modern design, try to reflect onthe significance and feasibility of using graphic design to promote traditional culture.
