The history of American slaves is a history of struggles. In the harsh slavery, slaveslaunched violent bloodshed conflicts, and a variety of non-violent protests, hoping to get ridof the oppression of slavery and get the free newborn. Their way of protest in the UnitedStates caused intense echo,largely determining the American slaves’ fate.The non-violenceprotests are common before the civil war, which was reflected in politics, economy andculture.The thesis conducts a comprehensive inspection and analysis about the non-violenceprotest which has very a strong academic value. This thesis quotes a large number of originaldata and uses the non-violent resistance as the breakthrough point. The paper analyses thecauses and the ways of the non-violent resistance to get a comprehensive understanding of theimpact and status of the resistance.The introduction part briefly describes the research content, direction, and the presentresearch in academic circles at home and abroad. The thesis also states the significance of thetopic.The thesis consists of four parts:The first part: describe the original causes of the non-violent resistance before the civilwar. Treat the slaves under the oppression of slavery as a starting point. Describe respectivelyfrom the limitations of non-violent resistance to the objectivity(that is the social environment)and subjectivity(that is the condition of the slaves) of the original causes of the non-violentresistance.The second part: discuss the ways of the non-violent resistance before the civil war;analyse the features of various ways.The third part: Combing with the ways of non-violent resistance, the thesis discusses theeffects of the non-violent resistance from the four aspects: the operation mode, abolishment ofslavery, the state of the civil war and the spirits of the protest.The conclusion part summarizes this thesis, under the special environment of the UnitedStates, slave protest is a more effective, more practical and more powerful power. It plays animportant role in the course to decide their own fate. At the same time, in the course of thepursuit of freedom. The spirits of slaves’ non-violent resistance in pursuit of freedom shine annals, and leave a brilliant page.
