This paper will take as the basic example, to probe intothe works of Federíco García Lorca, the very famous spanish poet anddramatist. I will begin with analysis of his artistic form and the multiplethemes in his work, revealing his creative features. Then I will discuss thereasons why they were formed, finally relating the value of researchingLorca’s poetry. In choosing his themes, Lorca always paid attention to major issues oflife like childhood, death and love. He revealed his ideas of the world and life, showing his efforts to find solutions to problems. In the area of creative fea-tures, Lorca associated and blended symbolic images, making their connota-tion quite complicated. By combining language with images and emotion, hebuilt multiple rhythms in his poems. He aroused sensitivity by using simplewords and thoughts. And he added dramatic factors, designing many poemsas a continuous entity, thus making his poetry’s meaning more intense andspreading out his themes better.Lorca’s artistic technique and multiple themes, mostly affected byFrench Symbolism and formed in, were a strong foundation for his later works. The completion of those creative features were combinedwith his cultural background, personal experiences and essential ideas, andwere realized by his ability to polish language. With the growing bounty ofLorca’s experiences, connections with ideals of modern literature, and in-creasing skill of Lorca’s poetic language, his artistic personality and the mul-tiple themes in his works which were formed in Libro de poemas were re-vealed even better in his later works. The value of this research is to provide a good example for Chinesecontemporary poetry as it relates to Lorca’s works. Lorca’s poems are excel-lent at merging the poetic spirit of his home land with many different devicesfrom modern art schools. He carries both the responsibilities of poetic art andsocial life on his back. This is presently the very question of Chinese poetry.
