From the entry into the literature world in the1970s, it is very rare to see such a high productive and hugely changed writer as Pingwa Jia. The works records the change of the Chinese society and people’s mentality. And from this prospective, we can find a way to understand current literature world and the current society. This article starts with the writing mentality of the writer, systematically reviews the works of Jia in every period, and tries to find out the rationale behind all these works, so can analyze the realistic meaning and typicality of the rationale.The article has three chapters:first chapter has a systematical retrospect to Jia’s work. In the many of his novels, the article grabs some important milestone such as the novels of "Shang Zhou",<Fuzao>,<Feidu>,<Qingqiang>,<Gulu>. The article found the track of the works are keep forging ahead and explore, worries and overstep, self-examination and regression. The second chapter analyzes the factors that affect the writing, mainly from personal, culture, and society three aspects. The third chapter analyzes the typicality of the time from the aspects of multiple metal anxiety and mental homeland between town and country, which gives the article some realistic meaning.The main conclusion of the article is that the writing mentality has change among the different period of writing, and the change has followed the pace of the change of the society, which matches the typical human’s psychology. Jia is a writer with mental burden. He takes the burden, reflect and read the mental condition. From the research of Jia’s works, we can open a window to the complex mental world behind all his novels.
