Ravel Piano Work<Jeux D’eau>,<Une Barque Sur L’ocean>,<Ondine>the ’Water’ Depiction And Significance Research

Maurice Ravel is the greatest French Impressionist Composer across the19th century and20th century. Ravel’s piano works<Jeux D’eau>,<Une barque sur lOcean>,<Ondine> fully reflect the characteristics of Impressionist music by using great colorful music writing.and unique musical language.Base on the three piano works which is contained water dipictions composerd by Ravel, the essay is started the research by the water manifestation and significance. The essay have four chapters in total. Chapter One is a brief introduction to Ravel’s life backgrounds and the music characteristics. Chapter Two start the reaserch of the three piano works by musicalform, harmonies, musical mode, rhythm and texture, and try to find the water dipiction in this musical elements. Chapter Three is analysed how to performance some important points about the water dipiction with the performance experience. Chapter Four evaluate the water dipiction and unique musical by the Ravel three piano works, summarize the Ravel piano work’s manifestation and significance. These studies has the important implications for the teaching and performance Ravel’s piano works.
