The Use Of Main Tone In Chamber Music Of Isang

Isang yun, a Korean German composer(Sep.17,1917-Nov.3,1995). He absorbed the modern Western composing technique to express the spirit of Asians, and there are distinct oriental elements in his music style. His works indicate a track of pursuing and inspiration in composing technique and musical aesthetics.Chamber music has taken a large proportion of Isang yun’ s works, which contains various genres, comprising almost all the ensembles and chamber genres in large scale. Standing from the point of composing, this article analysis and study the structure of Isang yun’s chamber music, such as the organization of tones, the timbre, texture, musical lines, dynamics and tempo in the music, in order to find the’Regularity’of the’Main tone’technique.There are three chapters in this article:Chapter I is the introduction of Isang yun’s life and his composing career. It divides his composing career into three periods:enlighten period, exploration period and mature period, and shows as well as analysis the historical context and individual experience in each period, thus exploring the cultural origin of the unique composing technique of’Main tone’; Chapter Ⅱ sums up the composing regularity of the ’Main tone’ technique, which is a integration of modern Western composing technique and Oriental philosophy and traditional culture; ChapterⅢ studies the organization of tones, structure of musical lines, tempo, dynamics, timbre and color of Isang yun’s chamber music Octet, and shows the exact way of expression of the’Main tone’technique, and make us know clearly the composing ideas of the composer.The study and analysis of the ’Main tone’technique in this article makes great sense in identifying the composer’s musical style, who explored a way of combining the traditional culture with the modern technique.
