Toru Takemitsu is regarded as one of the most representative musicians in Asia and thus research on his works has been conducted constantly.This paper tries to explore the pitch,rhythm and construction by illustration of Toward the sea I for Alto Flute and Guitar, and is intended to achieve a more profound understanding of the creative techniques and organizational logic.This paper consists of four chapters. Chapter One introduces Takemitsu Toru’s life, his three music periods, the process of his creative and personal style.Chapter Two,three and Four focuses on the pitch,rhythm and the application of construction.Analyses cover the application of three tone row,pitch processing of three tone row in the work, tempo mark and notation styles and the design of the construction. Finally the paper draws a conclusion on the internal and external relation of the three movement.and in order to achieve the promotion from the technical language to thinking logic characteristic.
