During the Germany Romantic period of music, Robert Alexander Schumann(1810-1856) was an important composer whose musical works and reviews set an example at that period. Schumann’s music creation is characterized not only by his own romantic feelings, but also by his own specific artistic styles, which follows the features of his former musicians, such as Bach, Schubert and others, and forms his breakthrough and innovation. His musical works Piano concerto in a Minor was the masterpiece in his late years and symbolized his Peak of music creation. The paper will focuse on the analysis on the works Piano concerto in a Minor and Schumann’s music creation from six aspects: First chapter will give a general introduction to Schuman’s life and his music creation;Second Chapter aims to give a detailed analysis of Piano concerto in a Minor, including the analysis to the background, musical form, concord, melody, rhythm, etc.In Chapter Three, I will express my own point of view on the relationship between Schumann and Chinese and western estheticians, and explain Schumann’s own thought of music.Chapter Four will analyze Schumann’s dual characters embodied in Piano concerto in a MinorIn Chapter Five, I will give an analysis of instrumental performance, with emphasis on the key performances on melodies, concord and other musical factors, and the relationship between piano and musical band.Chapter Six will summarize Schumann’s musical style of piano.By the above analysis to Schumann’s Piano concerto in a Minor, we can get a deeper understanding both to Schuman’s style of musical creation and his deep feelings of romanticism, and to the features of Germany music of Romanticism in19th century.
