Research On The Original And Youth Edition Of The Peony Pavilion

This paper took the original The Peony Pavilion and the youth version of ThePeony Pavilion and its stage performance video material as the main research object.And it commented on the script comparing and the drama adaptation by using narrativetheory, reception aesthetics, art aesthetics, filmology etc. This paper compared thedifferences between the original version and the youth version from the its plot,structure, character image, as well as stage interest and situation of youth version, andsummarized the modern drama innovation characteristics which embodied by the youthversion. The major topics and explanations are as follows:First Chapter,“The plots of the play”. It analyzed the differences of the plotsbetween the original version and the youth version as to clarify the interaction betweenthe plots adaptation and existence patterns of modern Kun opera. There are four parts:the first part is about repertoire comparison, analyzing the repertoire differencesbetween original version and youth version. The second, third and fourth part is aboutdiscussing the deleting and saving between the original version and youth version,according to the deleting of “Dream Love”, the cutting of “Ghost Love”, the reposingof “Human Life”.Second Chapter,“The characters and theme of the script”. And it also clarified the reasons ofrecomposing this book, summarized the relationship between character image andtheme.Third Chapter,“The stage interest and charm of youth version”. According tothe video materials of stage performance, it contains two part:“background art” and“performance art”. The first part presented the complementary relationship between thescript and the stage presentation from the painting and color. The second part took"Positioning high-end","actor younger","the program included","showmodernization" as the focus, clarified that the young actors how to show the charm ofKun Opera.At last, this paper summarized the research production that The Peony Pavilion complies with the development of the times, and concluded the success and theshortcomings of youth version, put forward the evaluation of the development of KunOpera in the future, defined the approach of the revitalization of literary works andKun Opera.
