A Study On "You Yi Zhong A Jiao B" Structure

On the basis of the previous, this paper is to research "you yi zhong A jiao B" from different angles. It analyzed the characteristics of the construction in syntactic structure, semantic relations and pragmatics, and investigated diachronic development and the formation process of the construction. Focused on three aspects of syntax, semeiotics and pragmatics theoretical background, this article is to gain a proper understanding of the construction, combined with cognitive linguistics, construction grammar, the title syntax theory and so on. The full text is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction. The first problem was to point out the object of this paper, and then "you yi zhong A jiao B" existing research was reviewed and commented, and at last we described the research contents, methods and corpus sources.The second chapter is the outside form of the "you yi zhong A jiao B".We classified and analyzed the construction, mainly from the nature of the characteristics of the A and B, the structural relationship of the structure, the characteristics of the structure into the sentences. Based on the collected corpus, next we investigated concretely syllable characteristics of A B, functional categories select of A B, language types characteristics of the A B, and the form relationship between A and B. Then the structure of the structural relationship was analyzed, the syntactic position of the construction and syntactic functions were summarized.The third chapter is semantic function investigation of structure. We studied and investigated the semantic features of A B when they were noun phrases, verb phrases, and adjective phrases; summarized four types of semantic relationships between A and B, which were causes and results relationship class, event attribute and things relationship class, opposition and consolidation relationship class, comparison relationship class.And we analyzed cognitive psychological basis of the formation of these relationships from the perspective of cognitive linguistics; explored the semantic features of "you yi zhong A jiao B", pointing out that its anti-expected constructional meaning, while we analysed the achieve conditions of the anti-discourse information which this construction conveys.The fourth chapter is the construction’s pragmatic value analysis. This part we explored pragmatic value of "you yi zhong A jiao B" into syntactic component; its pragmatic constructions in discourse; its pragmatic function in titles, examined the efficient performance of its title, and at the same time analysed internal and external reasons being widely used as titles; In different contexts,"you yi zhong A jiao B" can be expressed commendatory, derogatory, neutral emotions.The fifth chapter is the construction’s diachronic investigation.First we retrospectived the precedent of "you yi zhong A jiao B", finding that the structural formula produced in the Qing Dynasty, and then we combed the development process and the evolution of characteristics during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Republic of China and the Republic of the1990s. And finally we studyed the motivation and formation mechanism of "you yi zhong A jiao B" from internal and external aspects.
