Cognitive Function Study Of “Shei X……” Noninterrogative Construction

“Shei X……”is a interrogative structure,commonly used in the modern spoken Chinese,but it is a non-interrogative construction when expresses affirmation or negation in a broad sense.From the perspective of construction grammar,this paper uses the principles of cognitive linguistic and pragmatics to analyze the characteristics of syntax,semantics and pragmatics of “Shei X……”structure and trace its cognitive motivation and mechanism on the basis of a solid description of linguistic facts.The introduction part expounds the background and significance of this study,summarizes the previous researches and explains the purpose methods and corpus sources of this paper.The main part includes the first part to the third part.The first part describes the licensing conditions of syntactic and semantic functions of the typical sentence patterns of “Shei X……”: “Shei V……”type and “Shei bu V……”type,and analyzes its characteristics of syntax,semantics and pragmatics in detail.The “Shei V……”type,from the overall point of view,expresses negation,and the “Shei bu V……”type is affirmation.This part also analyzes the sentence types of “Shei X……”non-interrogative structure.After analysis,it is found that it can be commonly used in rhetorical sentences,declarative sentences,and exclamatory sentences etc.The second chapter,according to the construction grammar theory,identifies “Shei X……”structure as a non-interrogative construction.This part also makes a classifying conclusion of the construction meaning of “Shei X……” on the basis of Wu Fuxiang's theory about the classification of the information components in the process of discourse communication.After analysis,it finds that “Shei X……”can expresses counter-expectation information,expectation information and neutral information in its different types analyzed in this part.Finally summed up the characteristic differences of “Shei X……”non-interrogative construction in intonation,syntactic structure,semantics and pragmatics.The third chapter,from the cognitive aspect,reveals the motivation mechanism of the non interrogative construction.This part also uses prototype theory,cognitive framework,the concept of integration,subjectivity to explore the cognitive motivation of the evolution of “Shei X……”non interrogative construction.The final part concludes this paper,points out the deficiencies and problems unsolved.
