Romanian and Chinese belong to two different language families, Romanian belongs to the Latin language family and Chinese belongs to the Sino Tibetan language family. The basic structure of both languages is different; Romanian is a language rich in morphological changes. The tense in Romanian and Chinese is different as well.This research compares the tense and the aspect of both languages from the practical point of view, revealing their similarities and differences.The thesis mainly covers three topics:1. The tense and aspect in the Romanian language. The Romanian tense system is divided into past tense, present tense and future tense. The suffixes and inflections are changed according to the tense, person and number. There is no aspect category in the Romanian language, the beginning, progress, duration, termination and experience of an action can be expressed only by special verbs.2. The tense and aspect in the Chinese language. The Chinese tense can be divided into three types:past tense, present tense, and future tense. It is mainly expressed by time nouns and time adverbs. The aspect in the Chinese language is divided into:beginning aspect, progressive aspect, durative aspect, perfect aspect, and experience aspect. The aspect is mainly expressed by means of the auxiliary verbs "了,着,过"and some adverbs.3. Comparison of tense and aspect in Romanian and Chinese. There are no similarities between the way of expressing the tense in Romanian and Chinese, the tense in Romanian is very complicated. The suffixes and inflections of each verb are changed according to the person and number. Although there are a few similarities in the "aspect" of both languages, but in Chinese the category of aspect is more complicated than Romanian one, which is expressed by means of some special verbs. In this chapter we have also compared the auxiliary verbs of both languages.
