It has been many years since the publication of the seventh Maodun Literary Prize. The discussions over this session of award and the winning works are not as fierce as before. However, this does not mean that our study on the prize is thorough and deep. On the contrary, the study of the aesthetics on the seventh Maodun Literary Prize is rather weak and rigid, which is unable to grasp its real aesthetic value. Through a close reading, it can be found that four winning works show distinct differences as well as its similarity in perspectives of aesthetic value orientation and art form. This thesis creatively puts forward the "triple aesthetic dimensions", exploring the aesthetic value of the seventh Maodun Literary Prize with the emphasis on "insistence of aesthetics","transcendence of aesthetics","variation of aesthetics", and analyzing the constraints behind each aesthetic dimension. At the same time, it combines the context and the specific cultural context to study the seventh Maodun Literary Prize from the aesthetical and historical perspectives. The thesis will help to understand the aesthetic form and constitution of the seventh Maodun Literary Prize in depth, and further more, to grasp the diachronic aesthetic principles and aesthetic form of the Maodun Literary Prize. As a result, we can sort out form of aesthetic value of this literary awards in the past, present and possible future. This study will certainly help to restore a real Maodun Literary Prize by brushing away all mists around current study.
