In the late Ming dynasty,China was set with troubles both internally and externally. At the sky falling moment,the scholars still concerned about moral philosopy and paid no attention to national economy and people’s livelihood.The social problems could be resolved. Some patriotic personage were anxious about the social reality but could do nothing.In order to reduce the hindrance brought by cultural discrepancies, missionaries took some special missionary means for China. They had successfully put some strategies into practice,such as "make more friends among the scholars" and "dissrminate Catholicism and science at the same time".These strategies brought a lot of natural and social science into China while helped the missionarise get into the Chinese scholars class. Therefore,western natural and social science had influenced Chinese study style. Western science and technology were helpful to resolve the pratical problems in all aspects of life. They are also beneficial to the national economy and people’s livelihood.That was quite different from Chinese moral philosopy which only flare on spiritual level,In order to save the country and the people from the impending danger,some far-sighted personage started to study the natural and social science from the missionaries.The thesis primarilly disscusses following problems:How did the Chinese scholars response to the apperence of western natural and social science?What role did western natural and social science play in the Chinese study style transition?...
