Study On The Cognitive Mechanism Of Visual Marking

Human visual attention is limited, because we can’t effectively processing object and its location in a short period of time, the visual marking is a kind of mechanism which operates in visual search, according to temporal cues to pay attention selectively to some stimulus subsets. Its generation mechanism mainly has three kinds of representative point of views:active inhibition hypothesis, attention capture hypothesis and the temporal segeration hypothesis. This paper will compare and validate thses hypothesis through two experiments three in a general perceptual conditions,and acquire the conclusion of the hypothesis. In order to study the visual marking applicable conditions.this study further examines the visual making’s effect condition in different old stimulation quantity, different presenting manners and different attentionresource.The results show that the visual marking’s generation mechanism is based on the temporal segregation, and it play better when the old stimulus are more than news, and the target stimulu is in the latter group. The effect of attention depends on its colletion with search target.
