"Sound Particles" The Research On Narrative Style Of Inarirtu’s Film

This paper focuses on the narrative style in Mexican director AlejandroGonzalez Inarritu. It Systematically analyzes his “alienation trilogy” and“biutiful” consistently. Perspective of this study is a narrative, film theories ofthis paper are the film semiotics, poststructuralism, etc. In this paper,Itanalysises the narrative of his films,and explore Inarritu’s film narrative theme,narrative structure, the visual language, film theory, and other content. His thethemes of the film narrative include the real life concerns, The difficulties ofhuman existence, a lonely life experience, and the metaphor. In the filmnarrative structure, it presents the characteristics of the three-stage narrativestructure, multiple narrative space, showing the unique nature of its narrativestructure. Especially multi-dimensional narrative features, non-continuity andcross-cutting nature of the characteristics, will be the three-stage narrative styleto a climax. But I believe that subsequent single linear narrative style was notsuccessful. It’s expression of the narrative is enhanced by its rich color andcoarse grainy effect, which is form of the interaction between images andnarrative theme; and he uses hand-held close-range shooting techniques toenhance the interpretation of the theme effect. In the narrative rhythm,hecreates a screen atmosphere through the details, uses the style of the MTV to portray the film meaning and the atmosphere of the picture; expand the space ofthe screen by sound. Inarritu is skilled of film theory in his works, such as theembodiment of the concept of art film in the film, the continuation of traditionalfilm by montage technique, philosophy, semiotics, and poststructuralisttheory.Besides, the author expects this paper can provide more relevant texts to the research of Inarritu as well as guide herself during the film‐making.
