| Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is one of the five ethnic minority autonomous regions in China.12minorities like zhuang, yao, miao, dong, mulao, maonan, jing, yi, shui and gelao are inhabiting Within the territory of the region. Because of the multiracial characteristics, the language use in this area is highly complex. As one of the provincial units with the most types of Chinese dialects, Guangxi has6types of Chinese dialects including Cantonese, south-west, hakka, ping, Xiang dialect and fujian dialect. Further more, each ethnic minority has its own dialect, which causes the inconveniences in communication and the slow economic development. Therefore, how to realize the harmony of regional language is an important subject for constructing the harmonious society.For constructing the harmonious regional language environment, we first need to remove the discrimination of language. Language discrimination refers to the irrational and inhuman treatment in language use which has performed on to the disadvantaged groups, which is known as a type of the disharmonious phenomenon of language. These language discriminations reject, infringe upon the interests of some people, which is detrimental to formation of harmonious interpersonal environment. So we must resist language discrimination, and build up language support for the construction of a harmonious society. However, within Guangxi region, because all people regions have their own dialect, inevitably language discrimination in some degree will appear, which is contradictory under the China’s background of constructing the harmonious society.Based on the harmony of Guangxi regional language, by questionnaire survey, interview and observation this thesis investigates the language using and features which is revealed in the contact and interaction among different people and languages. It is expected that through the analysis to the cases, this thesis can provide some positive significance to the language harmony of Guangxi Region. |
