Patrick Victor Martindale White is one of the most famouscontemporary novelists in Australia. So far he is the only Noble Prizeliterature owner of Australian. He mixes the European culture withAustralian. His novels show the things that all the people care about andAustralia features. There is ecological relationship between man andnature, poor lives, Contradiction between peoples in his master piece.Also empty and pain people with high pressures in the novels. His novelsreflect the men who face all kinds of problem in the modern society. Sopassage tries to explain ecological consciousness with the tree of Man.Essay contains introduction, body and ending. Introductiondescribes White and the passage about him in the overseas. There are fourchapters in the body: Chapter one, the overwhelmed culture by moderncivilization, human and nature live together harmonious, ecologicalcrisis; Chapter two, Social ecology covered with the modern civilizationmaterialized, explain the love between people and the social crisis formyouths in Urban civilization; Chapter three, spirit in moderncivilization, more than natural ecology and social ecology, shows theecological crisis between man and woman; Chapter four, White ecologicalconsciousness and the solution, analysis the background about socialculture and the ecological consciousness of White, the solution for man.In the conclusion parts, shows the puzzled what White’s solution. Thewriter hoped to study it In the future research.
