| Buddhist Cultural Zone in Wuxi Lin Mountain is the most complete and only centralized display the Buddha achievements of the Buddhist cultural theme in China and the world. Wuxi is becoming an important Buddhist culture tourist destination in China, which start at building up Wuxi Ma Mountain Buddha in1994, till Wuxi successfully hosted the World Buddhist Forum in2009. Lin Mountain Buddhist Cultural Zone has created a large number of influential Buddhist sculpture in the15years of continuous development process. In the central axis of the zone, there is the classics sculpture "Catching Demons" which has its unique characteristics and art design concept. This has great inspiration and reference value for creation and development of contemporary sculpture, particularly for creation of contemporary Chinese Buddhist sculpture.The research about sculpture "Catching Demons" is almost empty. I was not only luck to get to know the chief architect of "Catching Demons"--Mr. Zhang Yong-bao, but also involved in the production of "Kowloon irrigation bath" sculpture in Buddhist Cultural Zone in Wuxi Lin Mountain, which was presided by Mr Zhang. I am always admired Mr. Zhang’s sculpture skills and artistic attainments. Therefore, the article mainly analyzes style factors and artistic features of "Catching Demons", and tries to give a comprehensive analysis and discusses about its artistic background, language features as well as its aesthetic value. Last but not least, reference meaning of sculpture art for modern Buddhist sculpture. |
