Under the guidance of the Input, Interaction and Output Integrated Model Theory in SecondLanguage Acquisition, multimedia corpus developed by Corpus and Foreign Language Teaching andResearch Center in Henan Normal University was applied to the viewing, listening and speaking course.This empirical study selected2011English education majors of Faculty of International Studies in HenanNormal University as the research object. Reid’s perceptual learning style questionnaire was used to test thelearning styles of the research object, which was divided into six groups according to different majorlearning styles, including visual style, audio style, tactile style, kinesthetic style, group style and individualstyle.SPSS software was used to analyze the pretest and posttest results of experimental group and controlgroup. The result data shows that under the guidance of the new interaction hypothesis theory, theapplication of Multimedia Corpus to viewing, listening and speaking course greatly improved students’listening and speaking ability. Variance analysis and multivariate paired comparison were used to analyzethe posttest results of the six group students. The data shows that all kinds of students made great progressafter two months’ teaching experiment, in which the audio style is most prominent, followed by video style,group style, and individual style. It also shows that the application of Multimedia Corpus to viewing,listening and speaking course is not only feasible, but also meet the demands of different perceptuallearning style students. The author set evaluating indicator system and get summative evaluation of thevalue of Multimedia Corpus from the perspective of its function.After that, the author gave some further development recommendations to Multimedia Corpus,including diversification of media, online e-learning platform, the classification storage of media, the useridentity management system and so on. The author also summarized the enlightenment of the teachingexperiment to the future viewing, listening and speaking course.
