Studies On Francois Jullien’s Sinological Strategies

From the beginning of20th century,western scholarism have been surging into China.From then on native chinese academic research have been modernizing on the western research strategies.Enter after twenty-first Century,modern research of Chinese traditional culture with comparisoning backgroud gradually try to reflect itself,concluding comment on the strategies and doubt to the comparison culture methods.On these questions,Francois Jullien,a Franch sinologist,can arouse us with his strategies.This thesis is devided into four parts.The introduction is a sample interpretation of Francois Jullien’s life and the source of his interest to chinese culture.He doesn’t deem the approach of western philosophy is the only style of thinking,and turn to chinese culture,seeing it as a "other" of the west,to look into phylosophy from the outside and find out its feature and thinking base.In order to do that,he discreetly observe chinese culture and look for thinking methods which are completely different from the west.The first chapter give a brief form of the comparisoning background of modern China scholarism’s methods,and some classical methods of Chinese traditional culture with comment and doubt to them.The second chapter introduce the research strategies of Francois Jullien.China and the west are blank compared each other,since the west’s concept method isn’t exist in China while Chinese thinking method never develops in the west.Jullien study in the Chinese culture to find out how the meaning can be formed in China through reading of Chinese ancient canon and its annotation.To be contrast of his research,he criticize some wrong cognitions in comment sinological research.The third chapter explain some Jullien’s work.I devide these books into four classes.The first figer out the base hypothesis of cultural thoughts of China and the west;The second conclude a antistop from Chinese culture phenomenon,then unveil different constitutive property of the two tradition through analysing the phenomenon is owe to particular Chinese thinking method.The third show unexistence and unable existence of some comment western cultural phenomenon in Chinese culture background,and tell that how different culture models can result in different specific cultural phenomenons.The fourth explain the two culture how to choose different orientations at the same beginning,through analysing the different results from certain common human experience in China and west.The thesis is with the hope that it can be helped of the modernization of Chinese traditional culture’s research.
