The reserch of Chinese verb is the most complicated problem.And for verbs,we should put it on a concrete statement,or specific language environment down analysis.In order to reflect the verb in the sentences on the nominal composition dominated,and thus more comprehensive in-depth grasp of the characteristic of a single verb.The essay selectes the verb"zhua"as research object,case grammar, a small corpus about "zhua" is selected. First analyzing sentence syntactic in ancient Chinese, the verb "zhua"’s syntactic pattern, then compare these with contemporary Chinese.Then based on the theories of valency grammar, and it is anlysized the semantice roles as the predicate through studying the real corpus.trying to explain the current mechanism of semantic roles linguistically.The essay is divided into five parts.The first part is about the major content and significance of this essay, including the objuects the source of the corpus, the methods and research status, and some concerned results about "zhua".The second part is that we analyze and describe the verb "zhua" in ancient Chinese, induce its semantic roles, and sentence pattern. And make a comparison with contemporary Chinese.The third part is that based on the actual data and the former research results, we definite the semantic roles’quality and type. We summarize that the verb "zhua"s semantic roles including agentive, recipient, result, instrument, time, quantity, place, source, and destination and so on. And describe the semantic roles’connotative definition and syntactic characteristic.The forth part is that we describe the verb’s sentence according to five different condition:co-occurrence of asemantic role,two semantic role,three semantic role,four semantic role and five semantic role. Then we summarize the co-occurrence of the verb.The fifth part is summarizing the essay, and looking forward to the issue.
