The Lotus Sutra is one of the most important and influential of all the sacred scripture of Mahayana Buddhism, revered by almost all branches of the Mahayana teachings, and over many centuries the object of intense veneration among Buddhist believers throughout China, Korea, Japan, and other regions of eastern Asia.The Lotus Sutra also shows great research value in the history of Chinese vocabulary. Its translator is Kumarajiva, one of the four Buddhist translators in Chinese translation history. And this version was translated in AD406, the beginning history of the sutra translation in ancient china.The study on the Pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, auxiliary in the Lotus Sutra is one part of the study on medieval Chinese words. Choosing the pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, auxiliary words of the Lotus Sutra as the object of study, this paper is to make a clear sketch of the system of the Pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, auxiliary in the Lotus Sutra. In addition, the study also will sum up the characteristics of these systems.The article is divided into three parts. In the first part the author will introduce the recent study on vocabulary in the Lotus Sutra, the contents of this paper and the study methods. In the Second part the author is make a clear sketch of the system of the Pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, auxiliary in the Lotus Sutra, including pronouns system, adverbs system, prepositions system, conjunctions system, auxiliary system.Meanwhile, through referring the Chinese dictionary and other books, the author will analyze the specific words and the specific language phenomenon. In the third part the author will make a brief summary of the overall characteristics of the Pronouns, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, auxiliary in the Lotus Sutra. It is obvious that there are many disyllabic adverbs, especially adverbs of time, adverbs of degree and adverbs of scope in these sutras.
