Mr. Feng Zikai is a famous twentieth Century cartoonist,writer,musician, art theorist and educator. At the same time, he is also a Chinese woodblock prints and Book pioneer. In the nearly sixty years artistic career, although his life is rough and wander after the period of war, but his works always keep consistent interest surplus ran, tranquil tranquility. On twentieth Century, Chinese and Western art blend. Mr FengZikai is a special painter, he used his wisdom mind to create a unique form of Art--comic,leading a trend of the times. In addition to comics, he is also the Chinese New Culture Movement art pioneer, its content and illustrations gain by contrast. In addition, he also has deep knowledge in music, literature, art theory, translation and other collar. Mr. Feng Zikai has a special status in the history of Chinese art which owns art theory and art practice. His art becomes the twentieth Century East-West fusion epitomizing, which artistic has the important enlightenment significance on the contemporary art.Feng Zikai’s painting thought is broad and profound, his painting aesthetics is based on the Chinese traditional art thought. He put forward to the theory of superiority of Chinese fine arts, who think "Chinese culture has always been superior","as the predecessor of the European countries". Absolute spirit thought is the key to its aesthetics thought, the absolute spirit is different from Hagel’s absolute spirit, refers to the painting roots--the life spirit. And, he associates the absolute spirit with Chinese painting realm of "vivid",and thinks that "vivid" originates from the absolute spirit and" vivid" is the present of the artistic creation of the absolute spirit. So we can see that Feng Zikai thought is on the inheritance of Chinese traditional art spirit. It will be the focus of this study with the background of the times and the trend of the change of art. This article are four parts:the Feng Zikai painting experience and background of the times, Painting Source--Absolute Spirit, Chinese Traditional Art and Western Art Era Of Fusion, Absolute Spirit Law Principle-Unity In Diversity the four part discusses his painting aesthetics, which show that he is stick to Chinese traditional art thought and advise the innovative artistic theory in the introduction of Western learning into China and the popularization of art and reality of tide of reform insights.
