China’s market economy, with socialist public ownership as its main sector and several of economic sectors co-existing, stimulate the laborers" enthusiasm and creativity for production. A great deal of material wealth is produced and the productivity has been greatly improved. However, driven by the interests under market economy, such social phenomena such as:harming others to benefit oneself, returning for good, taking money on the priority, indolence, folding one’s hands and seeing somebody die, making and selling fake and forged commodities, tax evasion, seeking private gain through power, corruption and credit crisis, etc. are emerging in endlessly, which weaken the advantage of socialism and go against the steady and sound development of socialism. Therefore, to analyze the in-depth reason in theory and solve the moral dilemma are of great theoretical and practical value.The first part of the thesis analyzed the two historical premises for market economy division of labor and private ownership, which are the hotbed for moral dilemma. Compared to natural economy, market economy has a series of new features:exchange value is the goal and impetus for social production; an open and advanced social network, comprehensive ability system and extensive needs are results for market economy; contractual relationship is the fixed form for commodity exchange; atom-like liberalistic economic men are main body of market economy; values such as:liberty, equality and human rights are core elements for ideology in market economy.The second part reveals the source of moral dilemma that the direct oppose between market economy and morality. From the point view of main body, there exists the fission and contradiction between moral person and economic person; from the point view of motivation of the man body activities, there exists the fission and contradiction between heteronomy and autonomy; from the point view of nature of main body activities, there exists the fission and contradiction between super utility and utility; from the point view of the goal and means of main body activities, there exists the fission and contradiction between the goal and the means; from the point view of the results of main body activities, there exists the fission and contradiction between altruism and egoism. These above fissions and contradictions constitute the root causes of moral dilemma.The third part of the paper consists of three parts. First, market economy and morality have historical unitarity, which is the necessary part for thriving out of the moral dilemma:market economy provides solid material base and necessary historical premises for solving moral dilemma; market economy offers cultural conditions; secondly, morality is the embankment for maintaining a good economic market order. Lastly, market economy and morality balance each other mutually and enrich the respective inner contents and help to solve respective dilemma and problems.In conclusion, logically speaking, such elements such as:moral person and economic person under market economy, autonomy and heteronomy, altruism and egoism, goodness and evil, super utility and utility are under direct oppose, causing a series of moral dilemma; historically speaking, the oppose is melted in the historical process. Market economy build up a large deal of material wealth, which provides solid material base or solving the moral dilemma; the market transaction rules and commercialism offers cultural support for raising the self-control of the moral main body.
