A history of20th century Chinese drama, to some extent, is a history that the Western drama took root, sprouted, grew and gradually being nationalized in the land of China, from the beginning that being introduced to China, Dramatic Arts has faced with the problems of East and West, new and old, and cultural functions.So it has become a subject that how to make Dramatic Arts and the ancient people and the arts run with each other, and that how to make a perfect transculturation between the foreign art and local culture for generation after generation of intellectuals to continuously explore and practice. As one of the pioneers of the early Chinese drama, XiongFoxi’s name was linked with the development of China’s early plays. XiongFoxi put all the energy! and efforts on the drama career through his whole lifetime,who had made a multi-dimensional effort and try on the theory of Dramatic Arts, drama writing, stage performances, Drama Education and how the Dramatic Arts went towards the general public. Compared with the same period of writers,it was particularly valuable that he did not indulge in the ivory tower of literature, but that did it himself, rooted in rural areas,carried out "popularization of experimental",and actively explored the way for the popularization and development of the Dramatic Arts, which reflected the spirit of practice of the generation intellectuals in seeking truth and exploring the popularization of art. This paper attempts to take drama nationalization as a breakthrough, to take XiongFoxi’s contribution to the Dramatic Arts of his lifetime as a clue,and respectively to investigate the exploration and practice he did to drama nationalization in drama theory, drama writing and drama practice through three levels.Chapter One "The Art Theory Of The Audience Acceptance-Oriented ", focuses on XiongFoxi’s achievements in drama theory, which excavating XiongFoxi’s attitude towards old drama, dramatic arts ontology in the National Drama Movement, the value to the activity, performability and comprehensiveness of the dramatic nature, and the value to the audience of the taste-oriented and the simplism.Chapter Two "The Nationalization Characterization In The Drama Writing", focuses on the analysis of national characteristics through XiongFoxi’sworks,which is writing national content, performing the national spirit, shaping the national character,and meeting the national aesthetic taste.Chapter Three" Drama practice-Drama is the art of the public", focuses on the unique contribution of XiongFoxi in Drama practice,discoursed from three angles. First, it analyzes the relationship between popularization and nationalization; second,it discusses the nationalization innovation he made on the form of drama; third, from two aspects of school education and social education, it explores his exploration efforts in the practice of education.
