Influence About The Framing Effect On Practice With Under Confidence-with-Practice Effect

Judgments of Learning (JOLs) is an important form of metacognitive monitoring. The accuracy of JOLs is affected by many factors. Studies also found that JOLs is affected by Under confidence-With-Practice effect (UWP) recently. Research on UWP effect has been the research hotspot of learning judgment, there are many theories of its origin, but it is not a theory can explain it perfectly. In these theories, the studies of the UWP effect focus in the positive framework only, so in the study, we increase the variable of negative frame, and using the single word, trying to prove that the universal characteristics of UWP effect further.This research include two experiments, the aim of experiment1is exploring the effect about framework for the UWP, through operating different frameworks, verify the UWP effect in the free recall of immediate JOLs. Experiment2increases the early warning mechanism, exploring the warning on the intervention effect of immediate JOLs. This research also focuses on metamemory knowledge for the UWP effect mechanism.This study reached the following conclusions:1There is UWP effect in the positive frame. The second round of the absolute accuracy is best, and the first one is the worst, and the third is better than fourth.2It appeared the UWP effect in the negative frame. The change trend of the absolute accuracy appeared the same with the first conclusion.3With the active forewarning, the UWP effect appeared in the third round in the positive framework, the trend slowed down, but did not eliminate. With the negative forewarning, the UWP effect disappeared in the positive framework. The absolute accuracy did not occur the trend of increasing sequentially in two warnings; the change trend of the absolute accuracy appeared the same with the first conclusion. 4Whether active or negative forewarning, the UWP effect eliminated in the negative framework, and the absolute accuracy is improving with more practice.
