The Research On Phonetic System Of Pingyu Dialect

Pingyu county, located in the south-east of Henan province, combined with the mouth of two province (Henan province and Anhui province) and three county (Zhumadian; Zhoukou; Fuyang), is belonged to the Huabei plain. It borders on the west of Xincai county and Linquan county, on the east of Runan county, on the south of Shangcai county and Xiangcheng county, on the north of Zhengyang county apart the Ru River. Pingyu has a long history of Xia and Shang dynasty, and called the name Zhidi. Pingyu county used to belonged to Cai, Chu, Runan, Ruyang etc county in the feudal society, and used to belonged to Xinyang county after the founding of China. In1965, Xinyang was divided into two special administrative areas, Zhumadian and Xinyang, Pingyu county belonging to Zhumadian since then. It’s special geographical position and different ownerships in different periods make Pingyu dialect have typical transitional characteristics.In point of achievements in present dialect study, the phonetic research of Pingyu dialect isn’t very systematic or enough, and systemic articles only about pingyu phonetic system is not commonly. Most of the achievements in academic journals are for Zhongyuan mandarin or Henan dialect, the Pingyu dialect was just as one part of example to simply introduce without any deeply research or complete understanding of the phonetic system.This paper will analysis the phonetic of Pingyu dialect from the angle of synchronic summarize the character of the phonetic system, and sum up the corresponding laws of the medieval phonetic system and Pingyu dialect phonetic system, for providing the detailed basic materials to the study of Zhongyuan mandarin and Luohe-Xiangcheng Mandarin.This paper is composed of seven parts, including the introduction, Pingyu dialect Single words phonetic system, the comparison of the medieval phonetic system and Pingyu dialect phonetic system, the diferences in written language and spoken language, the Pingyu dialect phonetic change, the Pingyu dialect syllabary and the last seven aspects. In practical terms, the first chapter describes the geographical democratic profile of Pingyu County, the history of the county, the passing dialects research and the investigation objective, investigation materials, and the phonetic symbols. In the second part, the phonological system of Pingyu dialect and the law of phonological system are introduced. The third chapter summarizes some rules of the Pingyu dialect evolution during the comparison of the medieval phonetic system and Pingyu dialect phonetic system, for providing reliable information to the establishment of the Chinese history of language. The fourth chapter introduces the diferences in written language and spoken language. The fifth chapter introduces the Pingyu dialect phonetic change, especially one special phenomenon in light tone:"Qingsheng buqing", and try to make an explanation for it. The sixth chapter introduces the homophony syllabary of Pingyu dialect.The last part of the paper is the further discussion. There are some didn’t solved questions are touched in this chapter.
