This article sorted the domestic cartoon development into seven periods based on its characteristics:imitating U.S model cartoon period, fairy tale cartoon period, Golden time of nationalistic cartoon period, propagandistic and educational cartoon period, high volume production period, imported cartoon period, and new media cartoon period. Based on this fact, this article analyzed the disadvantages of domestic cartoons:lack of original creativity, absence of comprehensive talents, unclarified targeted market, over-imitating market and incomplete industry system, which lead to the fact that domestic cartoons are so hard to win a prize in the international cartoon market.Moreover, this article conducted research based on the first Martial series3D cartoon Qin Shi Ming Yue, and proposed the five ways together success model, which includes thesis, script, images, music and profit aspects. And indicated that in order to make the incredible change of production model from imitating to Made in China for domestic cartoon, government supports are with great importance, and also, from making cartoon to establishing order then produce model of talents training program, from marketing to sales, and from new media utilization to international cooperation, domestic cartoons have to work on all these aspects to improve the quality and image, in order to gain more audiences and success in the future time.
