The Post-Modernity Analysis Of Hacker Culture

As a special group of the information age, hackers play an important role in the development of network and computer technology by its exquisite technology and special behavior. In the virtual world, Hackers are not the same like the people in the real world whose center is clear, the position is fixed, the boundary is also sure. On the contrary, Hackers are uncertain, seemingly elusive and with strong post-modernism——Multiple, creating, decentralized character and so on. Hackers also formed their own unique culture in its own development process. In the process of practice, the transmission by hackers in the network continuously, having enriched and developed the connotation of network’s culture and interpose human life. In a certain extent, it promotes the development of the network and changes people’s thought and behavior. In this paper, the author will analysis the hacker’s culture and puts forward some new ideas from the point of perspective. The character of hacker’s culture are anti-centre of technology, anti-authority of technology, creative of technology, digital, symbolic, the care of others technology and so on. These have many similar with the character of post-modernism, such as basic socialist, suppressive, anti-rationalism, creative, attention to other. This paper expounds the post-modern view of hacker’s culture, and studying its the post-modernity of hacker’s culture start from its technical foundation and social background, especially researching the post-modernity characteristics of Hackers culture for expounding the positive influence of hacker’s culture on providing technical for the freedom of the individual, providing creative ideas to promote the spread of science and technology innovation creativity, promoting cultural development diversified to drive the progress of science and technology diversified culture, the development of computer network, and pointing out the negative influence of hacker’s culture on personal information and public information is fuzzy for the lack of technical correct guidance, the extension of digital divide for the technical differences, the moral deviation caused by Technology Supremacy, the increase of Cultural Hegemony, the spread of anarchy. Finally based on negative influence of culture hacker to take some measures were discussed, emphasize to set up the correct viewpoint of hacker’s culture, spread hacker’s culture effectively, strengthen the hackers’construction of the moral culture, learn others the advanced technology. The paper hopes to on how to prevent hackers into crackers, and make hackers culture developing toward a direct way which is benefit to the computer technology, creating a harmonious network environment to the value of the hacker culture.
