The language phenomenon of “Degree Adverb+Noun”(hereafter “Adv.+N”) structurein modern Chinese appeared in1920’s. After1990’s “Adv.+N” began to be used much morewidely and constantly. Especially in recent years, the popularity and application of internetmedia, mobile phone intelligent terminal expands the range of “Adv.+N” structure, which isbecoming more and more common, and shows a continuing trend. Since it appeared,“Adv.+N” structure has been an important part of grammar field, and controversial hot discussiontopic in academia field. In the initial period of the research about “Adv.+N” structure,scholars mainly focused on grammar modifying relations, and whether adverbs can modifynouns or not is the key question, most scholars believed that adverbs can not modify nouns.However the grammar is abstracted from a variety of linguistic phenomena, it is normal thatlanguage phenomenon is inconsistent with the grammar. Since1990’s,“Adv.+N” structuregradually began to be accepted, the researchers studied “Adv.+N” structure mainly from theperspective of interpretation and argumentation. The appearance and development of “Adv.+N” structure has showed its pragmatic value, reflecting the development and change of thelanguage. Aiming at the phenomenon of “Adv.+N” structure, the thesis attempts to introducecognitive theory to make deeper analysis. First of all, the paper makes analysis of many “Adv.+N” structure by applying the prototype theory and cognitive metonymy theory, and putsforward cognitive mechanism and makes cognitive semantic analysis and interpretation. Inaddition, the paper also demonstrates actual value, main reasons, problems and suggestionsabout “Adv.+N” structure. The findings are that (1) the spatial nouns or nouns having rangeand space meanings, nouns containing the adjective morpheme, nouns having category orclassification meaning, Proper nouns and professional term nouns can constitute “Adv.+N”structure;(2) nouns expressing derogatory or negative meaning, polysyllabic abstract nounsmade up of suffix such as“xin”,“gan”,“li”,“du”, proper nouns without any distinctpersonality characteristics or clear geographical feature can not form the “Adv.+N” structure;(3) nouns which describe people’s character, ability, temperament, mental, can temporarily beused as adjectives and form “Adv.+N” structure. At last, this thesis offers some recommendations and possible ideas for future “Adv.+N” structure studies,which is ofpractical significance.
