Class meeting, a special course in school, educates students and developsstudents’ personalities through an effective dialogue between teachers and students.This article samples a primary school’s class meeting in Ji’an City to obtain data, andanalyze the features of discourses between students and teachers in the class meetingand put forward recommendations to improve the quality of discourses.On the basis of the FIAS (Flanders interaction analysis system), the authoranalyzes the features of10kinds of discourses in six class meetings in N primaryschool. The10kinds of discourses include accepting students’ feeling, praising andencouraging students, accepting and adopting students’ suggestions, questioning,explaining, giving guidance or instructions, criticizing and asserting the authority,students’ response, students’ actively answering, students’ silence or confusion, ect.According to author’s research, for the aspect of teachers’ discourses, the three kindsdiscourses---accepting students’ feeling, praising and encouraging students, acceptingand adopting students’ suggestions are found seldom used among teachers. And expertteachers’ frequency of using the discourses is obviously higher than that of noviceteachers, male teachers higher than that of female teachers, middle-grade teacherslower than that of the high, low-grade teachers, low-grade teachers similar to that ofhigh-grade teachers. For the aspect of students’ discourses, students’ activelyanswering seldom appears. And the frequency for students to use it varies in differentteachers’ classes. The frequency in expert teachers’ classes is obviously higher thanthat of novice teachers, male teachers higher than that of female teachers, high-gradeteachers higher than low and middle-grade teachers, and middle-grade teachers lowest.For the frequency of using the discourses of giving guidance or instructions,criticizing and asserting the authority, expert teachers use less than novice teachers,male teachers less than female teachers, low-grade teachers obviously more than thehigh, middle-grade teachers.Based on the above researches, this paper proposes a number ofrecommendations to promote discourses between students and teachers in classmeetings:1, for teachers they should stick to the science of language, increase thelanguage attractiveness in the class meeting, focus on the emotional interaction withstudents, and improve the artistry of language expression.2, for schools, they should emphasize the exchange of experience of teaching language in class meetings;organize seminars to encourage teachers to improve teaching language.3, for socialinstitutions, they should increase the training opportunities and training courses forteacher...
