The Harlem Renaissance is an ideological and cultural movement which wasinitiated by the American emerging intellectuals in the early1920s, It is acontinuation and development of black literature climax occurred at the turn of thecentury. In all the achievements of the Harlem Renaissance, black fiction is the mostnoteworthy. Distinct ethnic consciousness and strong sense of racial pride is thecharacteristics of black fiction. The systematic analysis of recognition of theiridentity to the race-conscious performance which in black novel, helping us tounderstand the psychological process of blacks and blank race in American societyin the future to have a profound significance.The article is divided into three parts of the introduction, body and conclusionThe Introduction overview of the situation of domestic and international research onthe Harlem Renaissance, In addition to this innovation, the purposes and methods ofresearch, the problem to be solved overview. The article has three chapters,the firstchapter is black fiction and the Harlem Renaissance. First, we will sort out the blacktradition of novel writing under the influence of racial confrontation relationship,and sum up the black theme of the novel, that is a profound consciousness ofresistance, the pursuit of self-identity. Under the influence of this tradition, comparedwith the previous black fiction, the new ones also have new features. In chapter II,the topic about black novel identity will be conducted in-depth analysis, focuses onAfrican identity, American identity and Mulatto identity confusion. The third chapteris the awakening of racial consciousness in the black novel to analyze, includingagainst violence awareness in the black anti-lynching novel and concern for the newblack phenomenon. In the conclusion, a simple analysis of problems in the blackmovement and also affirmed the achievements of the Harlem Renaissance.
