This article attempts to do acomprehensive and detailed grasp of Lang Qichao’s Annotations for the PeachBlossom Fan, and make an objective evaluation. In the research methods, will take acomparative research and meticulous text reading method, and closely combining thesociety at that time. The article is divided into three chapters:Chapter I show the characteristics of Liang Qichao’s annotations for the PeachBlossom Fan by notes and style two aspects. By comparison with other annotationsfor the Peach Blossom Fan, to draw the characteristics of Lang Qichao’s annotationsis select the historical perspective. In order to facilitate the artist and reader, abandonthe original format, and learn from the Western theater and the traditional wording ofthe classical Chinese novel and drama, change the form of the Peach Blossom Fan.Chapter II show the theory of historical drama in this book. Liang Qichaoidentifies the relationship between historical truth and artistic truth very clearly.On theone hand he even praised the fictional acquiescence direction skills, on the other hand,don’t agree with major things in fiction.Chapter III try to analyze the reasons for Liang Qichao to annotate the PeachBlossom Fan combined with the factors on time and personal.He want to aroused thenational consciousness of people by the nationalism in the Peach Blossom Fan.Warned today by the lessons of history.
