At last thethesis has a corresponding reflection on them. Generally speaking, among schools of western modernist art there mainly exist three mainideas: the idea of abandoning imitation and stressing the subject, theidea of pure art and stressing forms, and the idea of challenging theauthority and stressing innovations. These make up three mainsystems of modernism: the system of subjectivity and performance, the system of form and structure, and the system of transcendence andphantom. However, although western modernist art has made a seriesof important achievement and has a far-reaching effect on the artcreation in other regions, it is unable to solve the contradictions andconflicts of itself. Consequentially, achievements and defects areclosely akin. With distinctive subjectivism and personal centralism, the non-exchange value orientation has made great achievements, inexploring the subjective world of artists and performing inner feelings, and contributes to the outlook of modernist art elitism, leading totension and estrangement between modernists and the public; Theemphasis on the form of art brings the nonfunctional concept, whichgets art creation out of the bound of external standards such asreligion and politics and has made lots of achievements in theliberation of expressive force of art language and creation of newforms but leads to sharp contradiction between artistic creation andsecular politics; The radical idea of irrationality breaks all the limitson artistic creation. With strong rebellion and transcendence, it notonly brings about changing artistic purport and techniques but also leads to an unstable artistic outlook with feelings of disorder, darkness, and pain, which later becomes the breakthrough point of therebellious modernist art. From these rebels on the characteristic value orientation body,we realize that: first, the Western modernist school fine arts stress onthe expression of main body spirit, that is,mainly on bodyself-cognition, which causes the artistic receiver’s opinion and thecognition in the subordinate status, which does not favor the artisticwork value to go on the further deepening and the vitality endurance.Secondly, the modernist school artists expel the subject and the imagefrom the picture, attempting to utilize purely even using the abstract, incredible, the ugly fine arts language to construct some kind ofeternal value system, but only to blur the direction in the complexunorganized language transformation. Again, the western modernistschool fine arts follow radical evolution idea and the straight lineforward development idea, which has brought the denial and thecritique source and caused artistic the development course to becomethe process which only then denied unceasingly can progressunceasingly and did not have the denial not to progress, theprogressive art of today in fact became the art with the negative artwhich will create for tomorrow, the artistic creation in this process haslost the permanent historical value in the evolution of modernistschool of western art. In addition, the western modernist art period ofcriticism will no doubt ponder current worth our concept of criticismand critics: the change in important transformation, never appearWinkel mann type or style of art crit icism Ruskin authority.
