Smetana is the representative figures of the19th century national school, he dedicatedhis life to the cultural development of Czech folk music, later known as “the father ofCzech music”. In his life he created a large number of musical works, the opera “TheBartered Bride”seen an outstanding representative of his singing opera creation.“TheBartered Bride”famous because its plain and simple character, its natural expression ofemotion and strong national character of music along with intense drama, it seen asenduring classics which often played in lots of national operas.This article explored the music of “The Bartered Bride” dramatic in three differentparts: first retrospective of Smetana’s life and creative ideas, and a more detailed story ofdrama “The Bartered Bide”; Second, from the overture, recitative, aria, quartet and otheraspects analyzed the structure of the music of this opera; Final, portrayed the character, thecharacters’ inner emotions and dramatic conflict to explored how the composer used themusical interpretation of “the Bartered Bride”explained the dramatic effect, then toexplored the high degree of unity between music and dramatic, and to clarify its enduringartistic charm.
