The Research On Rhetorical Features Of Funeral Of The Muslims

The famous chinese writer Huo Da is of Hui nationality. She grew up byinfluence of jade antique, and had great interests in art appreciation. Her masterpiece,Funeral of the Muslims, which won the Third Maodun literature award and the ThirdNational Minority Literature Creative Award for outstanding novel，made her ahousehold name in the eighties and nineties of the20th century. There are threeelements in Funeral of the Muslims: the nation, the environment and the history. Shetold the story of the Muslim family with three generations family in Beijing, owningits unique status of literary and aesthetic value. In this paper, systematic analysis ofresearch from the perspective of language rhetoric was carried out. The choice ofwords, sentence rhetoric, metaphor of speech, the use of auxiliary rhetoric, the impactof culture on the rhetoric are mainly described. We try to summarize thecharacteristics of the work on the rhetoric, and explore the innovation on rhetoric.This paper is organized as follows: The first part is the analysis of word rhetorical,mainly describing the features of language in the aspect of the verbs, colors, wordsand onomatopoeia. The second part is the analysis on rhetoric of the sentencestructure, including three aspects of the sentence: the sentences which are abound ofsense of music, the four-word structure, and the changes in structure. The third parthas analyzed the use of metaphor, which is the most common used rhetoric. Throughthe statistics, we have found that the most frequently occurred type of metaphor isparable. Then we divide the metaphors in this book, and summary the characteristicsof metaphors. In the forth part, we analyze the auxiliary rhetorical, ellipsis, graphs andpictures of this book. In the sixth part, we focus on the Islamic tradition, culture,classical Chinese poetry and Western cultures, trying to find the impact on rhetoricalstyle. The last part is a summary of this paper.
