A Study On Traditional Funeral Rituals Of Han Folk In Northeast China

Funeral culture is part of traditional culture and research into funeral rites is an effective way to understand the relationship between tradition and modernity.The purpose of this paper is to explore the history,present situation and future of traditional funeral rites among Han ethnic group in Northeast China with the view of folklore.First of all,the origin and development of Han burial rites in Northeast China were combed through the literature law,and the funeral rites in Northeast China showed the characteristics of intermingling and blending of various cultures.Then,through the investigation and research of the funeral ceremony of Zhoudong Si Zhan Town,this paper expounds the detailed process of the traditional funeral ceremony in Northeast China,and analyzes the three social functions of traditional funeral ceremony based on the investigation of the functional theory of religion.Finally,through the analysis of the changes and difficulties of the funeral service in the Si Zhan Town,the paper summarizes the three suggestions that can make the traditional burial in northeast China better pass on and transform.In the course of modernization,the traditional funeral rites of the Si Zhan Town have developed out of step with the development of the times.The author believes that in the reform of funeral,we should fully respect the traditional customs of the region,eliminate superstition and waste to reform the bad customs of the traditional funeral.
